The Late Nick Mendola, Seas2Ep34: Interview with Warren Barton

AB Podcast Thirty-Four: A Conversation With Warren Barton

Before starting his well-respected gig as a pundit on Fox Soccer Channel, Warren Barton played the role of defender for England, Newcastle United and Wimbledon. Still broadcasting, Barton now owns and coaches a strong San Diego Flash side in the National Premier Soccer League. We talked about this week’s Champions League tilts, Lionel Messi’s place in soccer lore, Jurgen Klinsmann’s takeover of US Soccer, Newcastle United’s table ranking and, of course, the National Premier Soccer League.

  1. Garrett Blackwell says:

Nick if FC Buffalo was to win the NPSL would the team move to tier 3? If not how does the team move up the ranks?

    • Nick says:

Garrett, hate saying it but it’s about business. We can’t move up until we have the business (which means either a TON of season ticket holders & sponsors and/or a permanent place (most of our own) to play. It’s not impossible, but it’s also not about winning. However, winning should cure a lot of that. So tell your friends to come on down and let’s make this place a fortress and move upward! Thanks for caring. – Nick
