(WECK 1230) — WECK producer Mike Cline Jr. made a great quick observation on Saturday night, where within 100 miles and just a handful of minutes occured an odd sports phenomenon.
At Long Island’s Nassau Memorial Coliseum, New York Islanders young star John Tavares completed a natural hat trick by beating Buffalo goaltender Ryan Miller to put the Isles up, 4-1.
Meanwhile in the City of Brotherly Love, Buffalo Bandits old star John Tavares — uncle of hockey John — beat Philadelphia Wings goalie Brandon Miller in their National Lacrosse League contest.
Not much more to it than a common-named netminder being beaten by pure, related goal scorers, but neat nonetheless.
