Buoyed by victory a bit, but is it not possible that the Sabres have been mostly fine since Feb. 7? Consider:
1) Came back to beat Montreal
2) Beat the Isles.
3) Lost to Boston, who hadn’t played in three nights because of a snowstorm. Buffalo was playing their third in four nights.
4) Lost to Ottawa on the road after outshooting the Senators, 42-31, because Craig Anderson is playing out-of-his-mind.
5) Beat Boston to give the Bruins their second regulation loss of the year. The other? To Buffalo (Their two OT losses, by the way? Both to the Rangers).
Worth chewing on…

I think the Sabres are still getting outplayed in most of these games. The exception was Ottawa, who can’t score a goal against other teams.
They have to get at least 40 points in the remaining 33 games just to make the playoffs. I’m not confident.
