“Preseason Podcast” No. 1: Sabres preview, Bills/Eagles

Hey guys and girls,

Not going to be foolish enough to put a timetable on it this time around, but my broadcasting moves are making their way past the legal/company stage and it’s time to finally get ready to roll. I’m going to take the next week (or few weeks) to get the kinks out of the system—it’s been awhile!—so here’s my first “preseason” podcast, featuring talk on the Sabres captaincy, the Leafs, a Bills/Eagles forecast, UB, Occupy Wall Street and more.

  1. You teased me with mentioning bullying in the intro, and then you talked for 5 minutes about “C” on a shirt. Weltschmerz.

It may surprise you, but I’m all for the Occupy Wall Street Hippies. Sure, a lot of them probably just want to steal free money from those more successful. And some that whine about credit card debt, school debt, etc… need to be punched in the face. But in the end they’re fighting a good battle against crimes committed by some of the rich, which are permitted by the State. Thus, yes, I believe that the Tea Party and the OWS Hippies are fighting the same battle in some ways, not that either side will ever admit it. I do wish that OWS would put together some goal however so people would take them seriously.

And do you really think the left would accept a flat tax? C’mon, man. If Herman Cain becomes President, I will stand on my head.

Dude, I’m a big fan but you are way off base with your occupy wall street protests. They are fighting for the middle class. So what if they don’t have a centralized message. I find that refreshing.

The Tea Party types are just an arm of the GOP. The OWS folks don’t shill for one of the big parties. The Tea Party opposes taxing the 1% more and even a minimum amount of regulation on Wall Street through Dodd-Frank.

    GO BILLS!!!

Al, I suppose I’m comparing the beginnings of the Tea Party, before the Koch brothers started funding them and changing their mission statement to whatever the Republican Party preferred. Is that fair? Again, I’m hoping for an even tax. That’s equality. Also, the college debt thing is pretty weird. How would you set a standard for every other kid going to school or about to go to school? Awful precedent. That said, my wife and I would welcome the ease on our family debt, especially with her multiple-degree debt!

  3. Expecting others to pay for your debt is criminal psychopathy.
